Denholm Seafoods Ltd ensures that the highest possible standard of quality is achieved throughout all our processing activities.
This is maintained through a strict management of our HACCP system where all necessary steps are taken throughout processing to ensure the product quality and fulfilments of customer expectations are met.
Our quality control department perform a number of tests on all our products and have full traceability on all our products.
While Quality is not a tangible item that we sell, it is fundamental to all our products.
Our in house tests include:
- Histamine Content is sampled from each production code batch using the "Veratox Quantitative Histamine Test" from the Neogen Corporation. The method has been tested by the AOAC Research Institute.
- Fat Content is determined using a method developed by Torry Research Station, Aberdeen.
- TVBN - Total Volatile Base Nitrate test is carried out on each production code batch.
Samples from each production code are sent to an external laboratory to determine
- Staphylococcus aureus
- TVC @ 30°C
